Thracian Lowlands PGI/PDO welcomed in October delegation of English wine professionals headed by the famous author and wine columnist in UK – Jamie Goode

What a great trip it was – full of great memories, remarkable wine tastings, breathtaking sightseeing and winemaking discovery in the oldest country in Europe – Bulgaria!

The famous wine books author, blogger and wine columnist Jamie Goode and 7 English wine professionals and traders visited the Bulgarian PGI/PDO regions in October 2024 and had the opportunity to discover the rich assortment of wine varieties, production and storage techniques, modern wineries developing wine tourism, as well as to establish business contacts.

During their one week stay unique Bulgarian grape varieties like Mavrud, Rubin, Gumza, Vrachanski Misket, Dimyat, Tamyanka were tasted from more than 10 Bulgarian wineries on the background of Thracian culture presentation and the 6,000 years of winemaking experience preserved in the Bulgarian PGI/PDO regions.
